Here's my only "before" shot of the sofa & loveseat that I was hired to slipcover by DK Designs. I learned from the owner that these pieces came with the house when they bought it. Free furniture is always nice but this dated floral is not.
They chose a blue and white stripe fabric for the slipcovers. Here they are now.
Obviously I forgot my camera and had to use my cell phone for these pictures.
Some close-ups,
I'm a fan of this style of furniture, especially because it's so easy to come by second hand and usually very affordable. I've seen plenty of them at Salvation Army or Restore for less than $50. The narrow profile makes them especially useful for smaller spaces. They are also pretty miserly when it comes to fabric because of the tight back. They can work with just about any decor depending on the fabric choice. The tailored stripe makes these very traditional, but washable white canvas would be a great casual look for a den or playroom, and a bold ikat would be awesome in a living room. Of course, a fun animal print can fit in anywhere!
Your work is beautiful. Next time I'm headed to the Eastern shore maybe I make a purchase. Jo @ Let's Face the Music

ReplyDeleteIf I need to buy a desk for my workstation then I'll choose a floating desk. Because this desk is space-saving, easy to install, ideal for business trips, and also cost-effective. Further, the looks of a floating desk are also better.
