Back from the Brink: Leather Bar Stools

These  bar stools had obviously served their family well but even leather has its limits. Just three yards of indoor/outdoor fabric and they're good to go.

Leather isn't the friendliest foundation for slipcovers because it doesn't have any texture to grab the fabric. I folded a layer of batting over the backs before putting on the slipcovers to add some softness and fill them out a little. These also didn't have any tuck-in space between the back and the seat so in order to eliminate shifting I boxed the seats. Velcro under the seats holds everything in place but they can still be removed for a trip through the washer when needed.
