Trellis ottoman from an end table

Another Parker Place makeover. I've been wanting to make a table into an ottoman forever but it's suprisingly hard to find the right one. The legs can't stick out past the top and it can't be too curvy... what about this little guy?

Seriously, there's nowhere to go but up.

I doubt anyone would recognize this as the same table.

I bought this fabric on Etsy. It reminds me of the  popular and  pricey Imperial Trellis by Schumacher

This is how I did it...

Paper template for foam

4" foam, cut to fit the top.

Spray adhesive to stick the foam to the table top.

Layer of dacron.

Dacron pulled tight and stapled to the underside of table top.
Laying out the fabric

Each individual skirt section is lined and the whole thing took about three yards of fabric plus lining. It looks upholstered but it's not, the whole cover can be removed.
I love it and can't wait to find another ugly table.

  1. Pam - you're unbelievably creative and talented. You could have your own show on HGTV. I'd definitely watch.

  2. This is so fantastic...I love the way the ottoman turned out! Do you by chance know the name of this fabric? I love Imperial Trellis, but it is just not in the budget. This fabric might be a perfect alternative.

    1. Mary, I bought it from Material Madness on Etsy. I'm not sure of the name but it's very affordable.
