Denim on a Sleeper Sofa

Casual, sturdy, comfy, classic. When these are your requirements for seating what comes to mind? How about denim? 

 Here's an old sleeper sofa that can only be described as "blah." Its pilled polyester upholstery in a dated design was bringing the whole room down. 

DK Designs is helping the owner of this piece to update her space. The colorful ikat drapery inspired her choice of a denim slipcover for the existing sleeper sofa. You'll notice that we added a skirt to dress it up just a little bit, and also boxed the cushions, which in my opinion, makes a huge difference in bringing the look up to date. 






Here you can see my method for slipcovering a sleeper. I staple velcro to the front edge to keep the skirt in place. It works great and you don't have to make any adjustments to pull out the bed. 

 The homeowner was really thrilled with this, which made me really happy too!
