If you've read many of my posts you know that I love, love, love to save money and get a huge thrill out of achieving a great look for as little as possible. Transforming furniture with a drop cloth or shower curtain is always fun and rewarding. That being said, I still appreciate an opportunity to work with high quality materials.
This particular pair of chairs belong to a designer's customer. They are top of the line pieces that will last forever and always be in style. Large, heavy and well made with rolled arms and down wrapped cushions, they are just heavenly.
The blue and white floral is timeless as well, but doesn't work with the updated design of their space. Re upholstering them would be a shame.
Here they are with slipcovers in the heaviest most luxurious linen... it's a good thing they never came to my home for pinning because I would not have wanted to give them back.
The skirt trim is comprised of two layers. First is a 2.5" strip of dark brown twill, topped with a 2" purchased braid. The braid would have been lovely alone but that little border of dark brown really makes it special.
** Update 7/14- I just came across this image on The Zhush. Check out the chunky braid trim on her gorgeous sofas.
I found your this post while searching for some related information on blog search...Its a good post..keep posting and update the information.
