Rags to Runners

Make it work! This resourceful customer  wrapped up her youngest son's high school graduation party, took the tablecloths off of the tables, and called me to turn them into runners for her oldest son's wedding rehearsal dinner in a few weeks.

The tablecloths were just yards of inexpensive striped fabric, cut into lengths and draped over picnic tables. After a quick wash to remove the traces of mustard and soda, this is where we started:

Along with the navy & white awning stripe, she also had a bolt of blue & white seersucker and needed runners for 8 60" round tables. The wide stripe was too thin and flimsy to work on its own, so we trimmed them with cording covered in the seersucker and used plain white drapery lining on the backs.

40 yards of seersucker cording!

TaDa! Crisp, classy, and the perfect accent for big white tables filled with hydrangeas and candles. Love!!!

Hopefully I'll receive a photo of the event to show them "in action." I just may have to borrow these when it's my turn to host a rehearsal dinner!
