Turquoise Valances

There's a sweet back story to these valances. The young homeowner is a dear family friend and a few years ago, during my real estate agent days, I sold him his first home. It was brand new, bright and beautiful. He and his adorable wife have been doing their decorating thing and have really done a wonderful job of adding their own style and personality. It's just lovely!

I was thrilled to be asked to make valances for their kitchen and dining room windows. They specifically wanted something very tailored and found their ideal fabric - a substantial blue/green fabric with a moroccan tile motif that works perfectly with the rest of their open concept space.

The fabric is upholstery weight, which made it perfect for  tailored toppers like these. There's also one over the door in the adjacent laundry room. All in all, it look less than four yards of fabric for all three- with a huge impact. They are really happy with the result, and so am I.
